In deep sleep our body releases different types of hormones that aids in recovery for daily wear and tear. The sleepless night has been linked to an increased risk of heart attack, obesity, and diabetes, therefore sleep is considered not just a routine activity but a important component of physical health.

2. Sleep and emotional wellness
Sleep basically plays an important role in emotional stability. You may face anxiety, irritability, and higher risk of depression if you don’t take proper sleep and give proper rest to your body. Apart from this, a lack of sleep affect concentration, and decision making abilities which can leave a person feel mentally confused or weighed down. Even less sleep can make some ones mood negative and he/she might feel a low during the whole day.

4. How much sleep do we really need in a day
Sleep basically vary by age. Newborns require the most sleep, whereas the adults generally need a minimum sleep of 7 to 9 hours.
• Newborn babies must sleep for 14 to17 hours a day as they are growing rapidly, and because of that their bodies demand the most rest.
• Infants should sleep for 12 to15 hours a day as they are still growing fast.
• Toddlers sleep for 11 to 14 hours a day as they are active bodies and developing brains which need plenty of downtime.
• Preschoolers need10 to13 hours of sleep which is to be done for brain development.
• School age kids should be sleeping for 9 to 11 hours a day that supports the learning and behavior.
• Adults must have a sleep cycle of 7 to 9 hours a day which is must. This is the sweet spot for most working adults to stay sharp and healthy.
• Older adults whom are 65+ need 7 to 8 hours of sleep in a day as the sleep patterns often shift as its not consistent.
